‘Bad omen’ feared as Xi Jinping stares at hole in ground

蘋果日報 2020/06/13 12:12

A picture of Chinese paramount leader Xi Jinping staring at a giant hole in the ground has become a subject of ridicule on social media.
The picture, shared on Twitter, shows Xi standing on an empty ground at the foot of Helan Mountains in Ningxia province. There is a big hole in front of him and he is staring into space.
A Twitter user asked, “Is he going to jump?”
Another said it could represent a bad omen and asked if the photographer was still alive. Some thought it looked like Xi was looking for a graveyard.
Xi visited an ecopark and a vineyard in the northern Chinese province to learn about the latest agricultural development and ecological protection strategies. In the trip, he said China had got the coronavirus pandemic under control and should now focus on bringing the level of production back to normal.
