好似睇戲通常得一個版本咁,歷史教科書,都係得一個版本。於是乎,如果讀者唔想被亂舞,面對嘅挑戰係:第一,要明白同一堆史料,可以做出無限多個版本。第二,教科書嘅版本,只係無限多個嘅其中一個。第三,先入為主,好多時,會唔覺意當教科書係權威,講乜都信。第四,教科書嘅剪接人,係根據某個框架去剪,而框架嘅選擇,未必如想像般純粹。第四,教科書以外,仲有咁多唔同版本,要諗掂點樣揀最啱自己心水嗰個。
譬如我輩中學時讀嘅版本,即管叫佢做「大中華膠版」,其實讀嘅時候,已經時不時發現劇情犯駁,但係礙於教科書當然係真嘅假設,就冇深究,只係放喺心度。直到有機會接觸到其他版本,終於有得比較,發現明顯有另外版本,個劇情推進合理好多。用合理解釋力嚟做把尺,原來大中華膠版真係膠到一個點。而受錯誤歷史比例感影響,就會發生例如當香港就嚟沒頂之際,有人會覺得當務之急,竟然係去神社燒牌。
商業世界,都有剪接概念,由Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey發揚光大:
"I've often spoken to the editorial nature of what I think my job is, I think I'm just an editor, and I think every CEO is an editor. I think every leader in any company is an editor. Taking all of these ideas and editing them down to one cohesive story... that means editing what the vision and the communication of the company is, so that's internal and external, what we're saying internally and what we're saying to the world – that's my job... We have all these places that we could go – all these things that we could do – but we need to present one cohesive story to the world."
Jack Dorsey唔係我特別敬佩嘅科技公司CEO,尤其佢成日叫PR話自己係Steve Jobs二世嗰吓頗難頂,但係佢話CEO其實係公司嘅首席剪接/編輯,我覺得係有見地,尤其係對一啲成日傾向太過鍾意捲起衫袖嘅founder CEO,呢個係一個好嘅框架,令自己唔會忘記,自己最大責任,對內係令同事向同一目標進發,對外係令用戶顧客明白公司同產品嘅故事。承接上次所講,公司嘅重要嘢要寫低共享,而所謂重要嘅嘢,正正就係呢兩個責任最相關嘅事情。呢種講法,同CEO as Chief Editor嘅說法,其實係一幣兩面。
