今年多次被捕的壹傳媒創辦人黎智英首度申保釋被拒，須還柙至明年4月，《蘋果日報》再度面臨嚴峻打壓，風雨飄搖之時，幸得一封封致肥佬黎的讀者信在寒風中送暖。

由英國上下議院多名國會議員組成的「跨黨派國會香港小組」（All-Party Parliamentary Group Hong Kong, 簡稱APPG），也有一封「給肥佬黎的信」，由多名小組成員聯署，包括APPG聯席主席貝內特女男爵（Baroness Bennett）、副主席奧爾頓勳爵（Lord Alton）等。

信中提及對黎智英被捕感到失望及悲傷，並指事件凸顯中國政府正侵犯在國際法下享有自由及權利的香港人；又表示在過去18個月，全球目睹一連串針對在港及北京反對政權人士的報復事件，包括示威者在街上被殘酷毆打、傳媒被打壓審查、言論自由受剝削，令人感到不安。

聯署指，在這個黑暗的時代，黎智英對追求真理、自由及民主的堅定不移，為本港及海外的支持者將隨時準備拿起火炬，繼續黎已開始的工作。

小組官員又表示，會與黎智英及所有受到國安法壓迫的人士保持團結，繼續為他及所有為自由而戰的香港人作出支持。

Dear Mr Lai,

It is deeply disappointing and saddening to hear of your arrest earlier this week. This can only be seen as part of the Chinese Government’s ongoing assault on the rights and freedoms which Hongkongers are entitled to under international law.

Over the last 18 months, the world has witnessed the vindictive and targeted campaigns of harassment against yourself and anyone who dares to speak out against the authorities in Hong Kong and Beijing.

We have seen the brutal beating of protestors on the streets but it has also been chilling to see the incremental eradication of freedom of expression with the Hong Kong authorities trying to censor the media to prevent the messages of freedom and hope from being communicated.

However, even in this darkest of times, your steadfast commitment to truth, freedom and democracy is an inspiration. Your supporters in Hong Kong and abroad stand ready to pick up the torch and continue the work you have started.

As officers of the British All-Party Parliamentary Group on Hong Kong we stand in solidarity with you and all those oppressed by the draconian National Security Laws, and we will continue to advocate for you and all Hongkongers who fight for freedom.
