Letter to Jimmy|We will be the ones to laugh last

蘋果日報 2020/12/18 10:11

Wing Chung from North America sent two ink wash Chinese calligraphy copybooks, newspaper clippings about qigong and a writing brush to Jimmy Lai. In his letter, Wing Chung said he had been wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for 17 years in mainland China. During his time in jail, he maintained his health by writing and practicing Qigong. He said many famous people in the world had written their masterpieces when they went through tough times, and he used to console himself by thinking of the tragic death of people like Liu Shaoqi.
Mr Lai,
Friends going through difficult times should encourage each other. I often think of Mencius’s famous words: “When Heaven is about to place a great responsibility on a man, it first exhausts him physically, frustrates his spirit and will, exposes him to starvation...” I believe God will eventually destroy the evil and highlight the good. The evil will not defeat the righteous. We will be the good people who laugh last.
Wing Chung
