Bauhinians rule Hong Kong, pro-establishment camp jump boat? | Poon Siu To
The “Leung Fan” female columnist suddenly wrote an article criticizing Carrie Lam, saying that she had been wrong for supporting Lam for three years. She said that she is starting to believe that Carrie Lam truly did not know how to use the Octopus card and did not know where to buy toilet paper, bombarding Lam for not understanding public sentiment and incompetent governance. She said that she wanted to “defeat the me from yesterday” and that she can no longer write articles to support Carrie Lam like before. “If pro-establishment camp means clapping and applauding even when the government leads the public to a cliff, then sorry, I am definitely not a member. I am just an honest child on the road pointing at the king and saying she has no clothes on.”
This female writer is really funny. It took her three years to decipher an equation that has been common sense for all Hong Kong citizens. One day, she suddenly wakes up to reality and changes quickly and completely, realizing the problems with Carrie Lam. Do you not read public polls or watch the news regularly? What is the difference between your ignorance of public sentiment and that of Carrie Lam? How can you have the audacity to write an article criticizing Carrie Lam? Talk about pot calling the kettle black! Why did she suddenly take a shot at Carrie Lam?
Phoenix does not fall into a land without treasure, but only a place where there are treasures. This writer is indeed a phoenix and will never do anything aimlessly without a goal. It is believed that Carrie Lam has fallen out of favor with Xi Jinping. Coincidentally, it is suddenly reported that a new political party, the “Bauhinia Party” initiated by returnees, is about to be established. This group of new Hong Kong people seems ambitious, claiming to recruit 250,000 party members and will participate in elections at all levels, including the chief executive and the Legislative Council. The blue blood founders have dazzling backgrounds earning their degrees from prestigious universities in Europe and the U.S. Moreover, they are elites and top executives of many major banks in the Central region. For these reasons, they are well suited to the mission of Hong Kong’s financial services in the Greater Bay Area. More importantly, the founders have a close relationship with the “Western District” which naturally aroused endless associations. It is speculated that Beijing wants to use this group of returnees to undercut the existing pro-establishment groups in the city. From here onwards, Hong Kong will enter a new era of “Bauhinians rule Hong Kong.”
Under this circumstance, the blue ribbons now have to prepare how to make a glorious turn around. The earlier they turn, the earlier they can enjoy, whereas if they wait until everyone becomes aware of the new situation, then they will only be jumping into the sea like a rock dropped into the mighty ocean. The female writer has the foresight to jump out from Carrie Lam’s treasure ship early without any loss!
In addition, the chief executive horse race is ready to kick off again and back in full swing. Carrie Lam’s policy address on the integration of the Greater Bay Area was interpreted by Michael Tien as a platform to promote her 2022 re-election bid. When asked about her motivation for the policy address, she said that she “hopes to lead the HKSAR government in the coming year to lay a good foundation for Hong Kong with a spirit of hard work, and she has no intention about anything else.” However, in response to the question of re-election, she said, “I have been through a very difficult time, but I regard this tough time as my training,” and compared herself to a sharpened knife who has been all polished up and ready for the re-election. On the other hand, when Leung Chun-ying was asked in an interview with RTHK (Radio Television Hong Kong) whether he would run for chief executive again, he responded “not at the moment.” This is a very remarkable answer, which can be interpreted either way. Therefore, the article of the writer who criticized Carrie Lam is naturally thought to be related to the election of the chief executive.
