美國駐港總領事館發言人在回應查詢時,重申表達自由、和平集會的權利在香港的重要性,又指美國相信多元政見獲得尊重和自由表達,才是對社會最好:「在此背景下,我們關注檢控這些案件的決定(we are concerned about the decision to prosecute these cases.),並會密切留意有關案件。」
英國駐港總領事館發言人指,希望今次裁決不會攔阻未來的合法示威,亦不會使年輕人喪失參與政治的信心。(“We hope that this ruling does not discourage legitimate protest in the future, nor discourage young people from engaging in politics.")發言人續指,《中英聯合聲明》和《基本法》下,港人的表達自由和結社自由權利是獲得保障,而香港的成功和穩定,也得靠高度自治和對人權、自由的尊重。
歐盟發言人全文: The respect of fundamental rights and freedoms, including freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, are essential in Hong Kong's success, but this recent wave of judicial cases related to political activism could have a detrimental effect on its democratic development. We look to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Central Government authorities to resume electoral reform in line with the Basic Law, and to reach an agreement on an electoral system that is democratic, fair, open, transparent, and meets the Hong Kong people's aspirations for universal suffrage".
