布蘭森遇單車意外頭撞地險死　幸頭盔保命

    英國維珍集團（Virgin）董事長布蘭森（Richard Branson），早前拍攝新歷險節目踩越野單車期間「炒車」，頭部先著地，全仗單車頭盔得保性命。
    布蘭森在博客透露，自己與一對兒女在英屬處女群島的維京果島（Virgin Gorda），為本年度的挑戰項目 Virgin Strive Challenge受訓，本週一在島上獨自踩單車下坡時，因視線範圍突然變暗，撞上減速坡，整個人飛離車，頭部著地，座騎則直飛落路旁懸崖。
    布蘭森形容，當時以為自己會死，但幸好是肩部及面頰承受了撞擊，而他所佩戴的頭盔亦救了他一命。布蘭森臉部骨拆，身上亦有多處受傷，被送向邁亞密治療。
    布蘭森以熱愛冒險聞名，曾經歷不少驚險時刻；他在博客就引述美國記者 Hunter S. Thompson（《加勒比醉愛日記》原著作者）的名句：

    “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
