社運電影節十月開鑼 籲以史鑑今邊緣發力

過去十多年，香港經歷社運轉趨活躍，到面臨瓶頸的狀態。香港社運電影節理解香港人的無力感不斷膨脹，以「歷史、邊緣、想像力」為本屆選片原則，帶來九部海外社運電影參展，實行「以史鑑今、邊緣發力、想像共同」。
由自治八樓及影行者合辦的「香港社運電影節」，首設於 2003 年，至今剛好 15 年。主辦單位今日公佈本屆安排，電影節將於十月開幕，為期兩月，進行 23 場放映活動。官方網站的本屆電影節前言寫道，近月時局發展，港人無力感不斷增加，香港陷入「社運氣氛低迷」的景況。回溯社運之本，他們認為抗爭離不開「被邊緣化的人爭取平等」的主調。當個體面對統治階層時，我們都不過是邊緣，「沒有對新社會的想像力，運動如何激情也好，最終只會換來新獨裁者」。
因此，本屆香港社運電影節揀選九部海外社運電影，呼應香港議題，引起想像討論。波蘭的《進擊的房子》切中香港人普遍關心的「土地問題」，紀錄華沙居民爭取居住權及住屋非商品化的經驗。香港近年不少社運由學生帶動，歐洲學生主導的佔領運動又是怎樣？《佔據：重奪生活的實驗》則紀錄克羅地亞首都大學的「佔領學院」罷課行動，反對教育商品化，爭取免費高等教育，或可作為香港的參考。
香港目下的情況膠著，香港社運電影節期望以海外經驗，吸引更多市民關注，壯大社會行動的網絡。來到第十五屆的 2017，主辦單位繼續以影像去感動，刺激觀眾思索，參與行動，「以史鑑今、邊緣發力、想像共同」。
