助在中國涉高買球員獲釋 遭家長質疑邀功 特朗普斥不懂感恩：早知由得他們留在獄中

美國總統特朗普稱訪華期間，曾向中國國家主席習近平要求釋放三名涉嫌盜竊的美國大學籃球隊員。其中一名隊員的父親日前接受訪問時指，特朗普對於事件的幫忙不大，遭特朗普點名批評「不懂感恩」。
早前，三名加州大學洛杉磯分校（UCLA）籃球隊員赴中國杭州參與賽事期間，涉嫌店舖盜竊被扣留。特朗普訪華時，向國家主席習近平提出希望三人早日回國的要求，其後更在 Twitter 寫道「免去十年牢獄，三人會否感謝總統？」同日，三人獲釋，願就事件道歉，並感謝特朗普。
事件原本告一段落，惟其中一名球員的父親 LaVar Ball 上周六接受美國 ESPN TV 訪問時指，特朗普「只是被大家塑造成幫了大忙」，又質問特朗普「你有沒有去探監？如果有，我就真的多謝他」。言論一出，事件再起波瀾。
特朗普隨即在 Twitter 發帖還擊，點名批評 LaVar Ball 的說法「不能接受」（unaccepting），認為對方低估店舖盜竊罪行的嚴重性，「早知由得他們留在獄中」。數小時之後，特朗普再度出手，解釋中國視店舖盜竊為嚴重罪行，一旦罪成可能須入獄五至十年，直斥 LaVar Ball 「極不感恩」（Very ungrateful）。白宮周日舉行的記者會則拒絕評論總統在 Twitter 上的言論。

Shoplifting is a very big deal in China, as it should be (5-10 years in jail), but not to father LaVar. Should have gotten his son out during my next trip to China instead. China told them why they were released. Very ungrateful!
