除了此類原因外,城市噪音也有機會影響不同雀類生存。另一項刊於《Frontiers in Zoo》的研究亦發現已離巢的斑胸草雀 (Zebra finch) 更特別受噪音影響,或令染色體端體 (telomere) 縮短,加速細胞哀退現象。有份參與研究的生物學家 Sue Anne Zollinger 指出,研究顯示雖然市區內生活鳥類可適應噪吵環境,但衰老卻會加快。
