《環時》總編：新疆「再教育營」人數遠少於100萬 不披露數字免炒作

中國政府在新疆設立「再教育營」，有報道指多達上百萬當地穆斯林被關押在內，接受「去極端化」再教育，有評論認為情況類似納粹集中營。
經常發表極左言論的大陸官方《環球時報》總編緝胡錫進，昨日在twitter以英文發文，指他得悉在新疆「職業教育中心（vocational training centers）」接受「去極端化教育（de-extremism education）」的人數，但他無權透露確實數字，只稱人數遠少於「外來世界揣測的一百萬人左右（much fewer than “1 million or so” speculated by the outside world）」。
但他沒有透露他從何得知這數字，以及所謂遠少於一百萬人的意思。
胡錫進又稱，中國官方未有披露實際的數字，是避免墮入統計陷阱，免得西方媒體炒作。
Chinese officials didn’t reveal the true number to avoid falling into the stats trap, giving Western media another excuse to hype up the issue.
