【董建華母校】英大學籲學生勿作弊 特別加中文翻譯 陸生不滿

英國利物浦大學（University of Liverpool）日前向學生發電郵，奉勸學生切勿在考試期間作弊，但卻特別在「cheating」一詞旁邊加上中文翻譯，引起當地中國留學生不滿。校方及後道歉，強調電郵並非針對特定社群，只是為是更好地傳達資訊。
在考試前夕，英國利物浦大學近日向國際學生發英文電郵，指出每年都有國際學生違反考試規則，警告作弊者有機會被停學。不過電郵在「cheating」一詞旁邊加上中文「舞弊」，並在電郵文末稱中國學生通常不熟悉「cheating」一詞，因此要提供中文翻譯。
這封電郵立即引起當地中國學生的不滿，質疑校方行為是涉嫌歧視。有學生發起網上聯署，要求大學公開道歉，至今已收集到超過一千網民簽名。有中國學生則向當地媒體《Liverpool Echo》表示，中國學生不可能不懂「cheating」一詞，斥校方的說法是荒謬及虛偽。
負責發出電郵的學生福利建議和指導部門及後在Twitter道歉，強調電郵並不是要針對特定社群學生，而是希望資訊能有效傳達。利物浦大學校長 Janet Beer 則發電郵向所有國際學生道歉，稱今次大學對中國學生的高度重視，「這是完全不恰當，我全心全意地為它所造成的冒犯道歉」。
